The Off the Hook Comedy Club stage will be graced by two top-flight comedians this week.
Leading things off is Rob Schneider of “Saturday Night Live” and “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo” fame, who appears Wednesday and Thursday.
Next up is Pete Correale, a Comedy Central and late-night talk-show regular, who takes the stage Friday through Sunday.
Schneider was a writer and performer on “Saturday Night Live” from 1988 to 1994 before moving on to television guest spots and the silver screen. Schneider starred in the recent series “Rob” and had a recurring role on the TV series “Coach.”
He’s also scored guest spots on “Seinfeld” and “Ally McBeal.”
This will be the Los Angeles resident’s first visit to Off the Hook.
Schneider said the basis for his act has matured with the passage of time.
“I try to do what I think is funny,” Schneider said. “I’m in my 40s now so it’s a little different. I try to get people to relate to (aspects of) their lives in their 40s.”
Aside from the two “Deuce Bigalow” movies, Schneider has starred in “The Hot Chick” and appeared in a number SNL colleague Adam Sandler’s movies, such as “The Waterboy,” “50 First Dates” and “Grown Ups.”
Off stage, Schneider is writing the script for a new TV series and will also appear in the independent movie “One” by Gale Ann Hurd, who produced “The Terminator” and “Aliens.”
Correale was recently named one of Entertainment Weekly’s top 10 comics to watch and his first-ever television special, “The Things We Do For Love,” aired May 30 on Comedy Central.
